The Táin March Festival

Pupils in Rang 3 – 6 were delighted to take part in a workshop recently as they trained to become warriors of Queen Maeve’s army as part of The Táin March Festival.

The Táin March – Ireland’s unique heritage, walking and living-history festival – is a fun, family event, held annually in Co Louth to celebrate the Táin Bo Cuailgne (The Cattle Raid of Cooley), Ireland’s most famous saga, and the warrior champions Cuchulainn and Ferdia.

The Táin March 2016 commenced on Saturday the 28th May in Tulsk Visitor Centre, Co. Roscommon and reached Omeath in Co. Louth on Bank Holiday Monday the 6th June.
