First Communion

Pupils from Rang 2 had a fantastic day on Saturday 10th June as they made their First Holy Communion in Our Lady of the Wayside Chapel.

We would like to thank Fr Linos for officiating and delivering a beautiful ceremony. Many thanks to Mrs Sheelan for her preparation of the Choir. Our choir sounded absolutely wonderful and the children from Rang 1 – 4 did themselves, their parents and their school proud with their behaviour and contribution to the music which made the morning most enjoyable.

We would like to thank Miss Lynch for her hard work and dedication in preparing the pupils. Her attention to detail ensured that the ceremony ran smoothly and we would like to pass on our thanks to her along with the children’s parents who have helped these boys and girls reach this stage of their faith journey.

We would also like to thank the Parents Association for hosting the refreshments back in the school after the ceremony. Everybody was made feel most welcome and the school community appreciates all of the hard work that was carried out in the preparation of refreshments, the reception area and the huge workload involved catering for all gathered. Your goodwill and warmth shown is a massive asset to our school. Sincere thanks to all.

Last and certainly not least we would like to congratulate the boys and girls, because it was after all their special day. They looked very smart in their beautiful attire and were equally confident and assured in their various roles in the chapel. A big well done to;

John, Abha Flynn, Ellen, Tommy, Erin, Brianna, Ruairi, Romona, Aoibhe Hanratty, Sean, Mia, Hannah, Alex, Ella, Susie, Clodagh & Maeve

Yet again this year we saw the generosity from our First Communion Class and their families, as they have made a donation of E300 to the Maria Gerotti Foundation in lieu of cards.
