Senior Infants Celebrate Chinese New Year

Senior Infants have been learning all about Chinese New Year. This year, the new year fell on January 31st and we paraded through the school to celebrate. We sang the other classes a song about how Chinese people welcome the new year. We used instruments and covered our faces with our dragon masks. Our huge dragon that we made in Art class even scared some of the teachers!

January 31st was the first day of the year of the horse. We learned that the children in Senior Infants were either born in the year of the rat or the year of the pig! We tried some Chinese sweets and we even ate our lunch using chopsticks; it was really easy!
